The Camera Smartphone.

Nearly all of us have smartphones of which it is safe to say nearly all incorporate a camera. Though ‘phonetography’ is on the up rise, a smartphone camera will never beat a digital camera. This may be where the likes of Nokia and Samsung saw a gap in the market.
Why not make your camera, your smartphone? But the question is what do you think about this? Is the quality of either function compromised? Can we have both? Do we really want both? Many of us secretly enjoy having our fancy tech, our smartphone, camera, tablet, we may even throw in a smart watch too. Below we are going to take a closer look at the benefits of having one super gadget – the camera smartphone.

Nokia Lumia 1020 – An Amazing Camera
Introducing the Nokia Lumia 1020, this device sports an amazing 41 mega pixel camera. When compared to the 8 mega-pixel camera belonging to the Apple iPhone 5S, Nokia’s Lumia 1020 does give the wow factor. The Lumia 1020 camera doesn’t stop there though, with an array of features such as pure-view technology, HD video, optical image stabilization and an amazing high-resolution zoom, it matches up to a compact camera with ease.

But what about it’s smartphone qualities?
The Nokia Lumia 1020 runs on Windows 8 and has all the features you would expect from your phone – clock, calender, phone book, alarm, pictures, music, and so on. The only compromise we can see so far is that your Lumia 1020 won’t lay flat when is it lens side down but do you really need it to?

Value for money
Most importantly, the value for money, the Nokia Lumia 1020 carries what may be seen as a hefty price tag – around £582 sim free, but it must remembered that the price covers two of your tech needs and is still equivalent to the price of the Apple iPhone 5S 16GB – sim free.
However older Lumia models such as the 925 have extremely similar smartphone capabilities so if you are not a dedicated picture taker, it may not worth it. For those who are, the Nokia Lumia 1020 offers an exquisite camera and the abilities of a fully functioning smartphone. If you are looking for a super gadget this may be the device for you.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom 3G – The 2-in-1 Device.
Not a fan of the Windows operating system? Take a look at the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom 3G, this 2-in-1 device runs on Android Jellybean 4.2, offering a fast and smooth performance. The main camera offers 16 mega pixels, clearly better than the average smartphone but the Nokia Lumia 1020 still steals the limelight. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom does kick back though, available £127 cheaper at £454.99 sim free and sporting an amazing 10x optical zoom.

Overview
Overall, as far as both devices go for smartphone functionality, you won’t miss out on any features. However, you may find that both are slightly awkward to hold and still shouldn’t expect the most amazing camera – hence why everybody didn’t start mashing phones and cameras together.
But these devices do offer a far better camera than other smartphones and a lighter and more convenient way to travel with the tech you love. If you value multi-functioning and having one gadget that covers all your needs, we would recommend a camera smartphone to you.
