How to soft reset your iPhone 8 or 8 Plus

The Apple iPhone is essentially a computer and like many computers, it needs a reboot from time to time. A soft reset forces a reboot and can help when your iPhone slows down or freezes by fully closing down all applications and starting them up again from scratch – this does not mean wiping off everything you have stored.

Astonishingly, soft resets can solve around 90% of iPhone issues and are particularly useful if your device is unresponsive or certain controls aren’t working as expected or if your applications are not responding or are ‘frozen’. For example:

– When the call or text function is not working properly
– When you are having trouble sending or receiving mail.
– When there’s problems with WiFi connectivity.
– When iPhone can’t be detected by iTunes.

The process for the latest Apple iPhone is slightly different.

To conduct a soft reset, follow the steps below:

Hard Reset iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus

Step 1 :- Press the Volume Up button for a few seconds then quickly release it

Step 2 :- Now press and hold down the Volume Down button for a few seconds and quickly release

Step 3 :- Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds. Release the Power button once you see the Apple logo on the screen. Your soft reset process will start.

Step 4 :- Wait for a couple of seconds until your iPhone boots up completely and displays the Lock screen.

O2 plans to switch on 1,000 sites with new 4G spectrum by the end of 2018

After the recent announcement of cell deployment in London’s boroughs, O2 is back at it, announcing plans to connect over 1,000 sites to a new 4G spectrum by the end of 2018. Major shopping centres such as Westfield shopping centres in White City and Stratford are taking priority, alongside transportation hubs.

By the end of April alone O2 switched on new sites in the UK across London, Leeds and Nottingham. The news follows O2’s win at Ofcom’s spectrum auction last month where O2 purchased £523.6m worth of new mobile airwaves with the aim to enhance the experience for O2 customers.

O2 invest over £2 million per day to maintain and improve their network and within the last year have grown it’s 4G indoor coverage to an impressive 98%. As the only player to deploy the new 2.3GHz spectrum, the recent and significant investment is designed to further improve customer loyalty and the O2 experience as whole.

LG reveals G7 ThinQ

Design

LG has released its latest flagship in the G series, the G7 ThinQ, boasting the most advanced processor and improvements to sound, screen and AI. The new device is home to LG's brightest screen to date, providing around 1,000 nits of brightness, compared to the average of 500 or 600. The 6.1" display has been taken up a notch from the previous G6's 5.7" screen for mega-sized viewing. Wrapped in a waterproof body, the G7 ThinQ provides both a premium-looking design and durability. On the left of the device, a dedicated button for Google Assistant can be found. The G7 ThinQ will be available in raspberry rose alongside three new colours: moroccan blue, platinum gray and aurora black. Blue, however, will only be available exclusively with O2.

Features

The LG G7 features the expected specs for today's flagships including the popular USB Type-C fast charging and wireless charging capabilities. Kitted up with the latest version of Android - 8.0 Oreo, you'll be able to take advantage of updates that will improve your productivity and boost power.  Most notably however, the camera has the ability to recognise objects that are on the screen with the use of smart artificial intelligence. This in turn ensures you capture a great shot with modes automatically switched based on whatever the subject is (animal, person, etc). The rear camera has also been improved at 8MP, as has the chipset. The G7 is launching with the newest Qualcomm chipset, the Snapdragon 845 offering a vast improvement in speed and power  compared to older models. Finally, LG's latest flagship is equipped with power microphones that feature far field voice recognition, ideal for use alongside the Google assistant button and features one  large and powerful 'Boombox' speaker for improved sound.

Pricing and availability 

The G7 ThinQ is due to be available in the UK from June 2nd after it's initial release in Korea. Pricing is expected to be a little under £800, less than the Galaxy S9 and latest Apple iPhones however this is yet to be confirmed. Motorola releases Moto G6 & G6 Play

Motorola has released two budget smartphones, the Moto G6 praised by TrustedReviews for having "flagship features at a fraction of the cost" and the Moto G6 Play. The G6 Play is available in deep indigo or fine gold, while the original G6 is available in deep indigo or silver. Both models sport an edge-to-edge display however the G6 stands out with water resistance and a 3D glass back.
