Night Shift

Night Shift uses your clock and geo-location to determine what time the sun sets in your area, then automatically adjusts the colours in your display to the warmer end of the spectrum. Allowing for a peaceful night sleep without the exposure to bright blue light in the evenings, that can affect your circadian rhythms. Better yet, Night Shift then returns your display to it’s regular settings in the morning.

Private Notes

Notes have been updated to offer you more privacy. You can now secure your notes with a password or fingerprint using the Touch ID sensor, whether that be your financial details, medical info or website logins. You can now also sort your notes by dates created, dates modified or alphabetically.

Better News

News is now even more personalised, with ‘For You’ helping you discover new favourites and suggesting trending topics and Editor’s Picks. When a story contains video, you can play it straight from your feed and on your iPhone, you can view everything in landscape. Updates and the latest stories also appear much faster so you can catch up quickly and easily.

More from Health

Finally, Health has been updated to make finding third-party apps simpler than ever, with categories such as Weight, Workouts and Sleep featuring a new slider menu that reveals apps you can easily add to your Apple Health dashboard. The Health app also now displays your move, exercise and stand data, as well as your goals, from Apple Watch. So you can see all your health metrics in one place and easily share your data with third‑party apps.
