Huawei unveils Mate 10 series

Huawei will be releasing it’s latest series in the UK between the end of October and mid October.

Design:

The Mate 10 will be available in Black, Pink Gold, Champagne Gold and Mocha Brown. The Pro version on the other hand, features in Titanium Grey, Midnight Blue, Mocha Brown and Pink Gold. It seems the colour differences are more apparent than the differences in size, with the Pro display just 0.1″ larger. Both devices feature a robust glass casing on the front and back, but the Pro takes durability up a notch with 1P67 water and dust resistance.

Features:

Huawei believes it’s latest devices are the first true artificially intelligent (AI) smartphone line. Huawei claims the smartphones can learn your behaviour and then adapt to optimise usage, resulting in no device slowdown after 18 months of use. For example, the devices are equipped with a smart battery management system that understands your smartphone behaviour and as a result, allocates resources to maximise battery life. The 4,000mAh battery is claimed to last two days with light use and one day with heavy usage.

“As we enter the age of intelligence, AI is no longer a virtual concept but something that intertwines with our daily life. AI can enhance the user experience; provide valuable services and improve product performance.” – Richard Yu, Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO.

When it comes to photographic capabilities, Huawei has once again joined forces with Leica, the German optics enterprise, renowned for it’s high-quality lightweight rangefinder cameras. The camera has a 12 megapixel RGBM colour lens, paired with a 20 megapixel monochrome lens. The Leica lens is combined with Huawei’s ‘Al’. Al uses intelligent photographic algorithms to identify different types of scenery and objects in real time. By doing so, the camera will automatically adjust the colours, contrast, brightness and exposure for the perfect snap. Other camera features include: f/1.6 aperture lens, phase detection, laser autofocus and dual-LED flash.
