Demand for the Nokia 3310 7x more than expected

The original 3310 was one of the World’s best-selling handsets with around 126 million units sold worldwide, 17 years ago. The 2017 version has also exceeded expectation with demand 7x more than Nokia expected, and pre-registrations into the tens of thousands.

Design

Most notably for previous 3310 owners, the 2017 version features a colour screen (gasp), and a bright plastic shell available in glossy yellow, glossy orange, matte grey and matte dark blue colour options. Keeping in line with tradition, the 3310 sports Nokia’s reliable keypad. Noticeably sleeker than it’s predecessor, the updated 3310 is thinner by 9.2mm and weighs 53.4 grams less than the original.

Specs

Upgrades include a 2MP camera, micro-USB charging port, headphone jack, microSD storage and Bluetooth. However it’s still an old-school phone so there’s no WiFi, GPS or app store but there is 2.5G internet. Further features include calls, texts, lo-fi photos and the much loved Snake for all those feeling nostalgic. But even better than Snake, Nokia claims the battery on the updated 3310 will last almost an entire month on standby.
